So I was going to do a write-up on the self-proclaimed “skinniest band in Austin” and their jangly guitar sounds and maritime imagery. But then I read the description on their Myspace page and said to myself, “Self, why even bother?”  There’s no outdoing this guy:

Mitch Calvert [of Voxtrot] and his band of thieves would be perfect for a post-grad beach bungalow night party. You know, everyone in ties, white wine, shrimp cocktails, etc. So if you’re having one of those, give them a call. I don’t know if they’ll put their phone number on here but who knows? Maybe they’ll man up. Or better still, maybe they’ll make a hotline so you can call them. It’ll be a pink phone with reflective sparkles and the ring tone will be a Comet Gain song. Probably ‘Ripped Up Suits.’ Mitch will answer the phone and they’ll pile into some über-gay contraption made from spare scooter parts and hightail it to your place. On the way they’ll alternate between Fugazi and Britpop, only to settle on The Promise Ring or some shit. They’ll show up with a case of Lonestar, $200 worth of fireworks, and a bill for $212.26. Then they’ll try to set your house on fire. You’ll have to stop them, of course. And they’ll want to play dub all night. But if you can get them to play these songs, they’ll be great. Your guests will complement you for letting them destroy your beautiful home, you’ll definitely get laid, and your post-grad beach bungalow night party will be a rousing success. International Waters- Salt and Sea

International Waters will be playing a show at The Parlor North Loop on Friday, 3/13 wth A Faulty Chromosome and Bear Claw. I know it’s Friday the 13th, but you should have already seen the film of the same name or skipped whatever subsequent sequel they are on last month.  Do yourself a favor and be in attendance.  And someone please buy these guys a slice of pizza while you’re there- they look like they could use it.

International Waters- Flashes
